🏛️Barcelona Update: Gothic Quarter Adventures! 🏛️ 🏛️Barcelona Update: Gothic Quarter Adventures! 🏛️

Today we spent time exploring Barcelona’s beautiful Gothic Quarter, wandering through its narrow streets and discovering some truly stunning sights along the way. There’s plenty of history around every corner—and lots of great spots for photos too! 📸

It’s been lovely to see students soaking up the atmosphere, picking up bits of Spanish in real-life situations and enjoying the experience of being in such a vibrant city.

Trips like this are a big part of life at Bottisham Village College, giving students the chance to step outside the classroom, try something new and build lasting memories together. 🌍

More updates to come as the adventure continues! ✨
Exam season at Bottisham Village College isn’t jus Exam season at Bottisham Village College isn’t just for our incredible Year 11 students sitting their GCSEs!

Our Adult Learners studying RHS Level 2 Practical Horticulture are also approaching their final Practical Competence Assessments of the year. Already skilled horticulturalists, they’ve been fully immersed in their final projects — including creating beautiful hanging baskets! 🌸🌿

In the true spirit of community and lifelong learning at Bottisham Village College, we want to congratulate our Horticulture students on all their hard work and dedication and wish them the very best of luck in their upcoming assessments. 💚
✨ Barcelona Bound! ✨ Our Barcelona trip is offici ✨ Barcelona Bound! ✨

Our Barcelona trip is officially underway—and what a start it’s been! With the sun shining, students smiling, and staff (unsurprisingly!) busy capturing the moment with a few well-earned selfies, the atmosphere could not be better. ☀️📸

At Bottisham Village College, we believe that language learning comes alive beyond the classroom. Trips like this offer our students the invaluable opportunity to immerse themselves in real-world culture—hearing the language spoken around them, experiencing new traditions, and building the confidence to communicate in authentic settings.

From exploring vibrant streets to discovering the rich history and artistry of this incredible city, our students are already gaining memories and skills that will stay with them for life. These moments deepen their understanding not only of language, but of the wider world and their place within it. 🌍

We are incredibly proud of how our students are embracing the experience so far—showing curiosity, independence and enthusiasm at every turn. At Bottisham, opportunities like this are at the heart of our commitment to personal development, helping every student grow in confidence, resilience and cultural awareness.

More updates to come… ¡Hasta luego!
We would like to send our very best wishes to form We would like to send our very best wishes to former Bottisham Village College student Harry Brooks — known to many as “Brooksy” — and his family as they prepare for a charity football match in memory of Harry’s father, Steve Brooks.

Steve sadly passed away nearly three years ago following a heart attack. He was a much-loved member of the Burwell community and is greatly missed by all who knew him.

The match will take place on Sunday 24th May at 2pm at Burwell Recreational Ground, raising money for the British Heart Foundation. Supporters are warmly invited to come along, watch the game, and help support this very worthy cause.

Harry is remembered incredibly fondly by his old school and former teachers here at Bottisham Village College. We are very proud of him and wish him, his family, and everyone involved all the very best for the day — some of us hope to be there cheering you on.

Last week’s Performing Arts Showcase was a celebra Last week’s Performing Arts Showcase was a celebration of talent, bravery and possibility.

From the first performance to the final applause, our students showed what can happen when creativity is nurtured and young people are encouraged to aim high. The quality of the performances was remarkable — and even more impressive when you remember that many of those on stage were in primary school only a few months ago.

Their confidence, commitment and artistry were a credit to them, their families and the staff who support them. Nights like this remind us that education is not just about what students learn, but who they are becoming.

At Bottisham Village College, we are proud to be a place where young people can discover their talents, raise their aspirations and step boldly into what comes next.
What an extraordinary evening at our Performing Ar What an extraordinary evening at our Performing Arts Showcase last week.

The standard on stage was nothing short of exceptional — confident, creative, polished and full of ambition. It was hard to believe that many of these students were only in Year 6 just a few months ago. To see them already performing with such maturity, courage and presence was genuinely inspiring.

At Bottisham Village College, we believe the arts have the power to transform young people: to build confidence, spark imagination, develop discipline and give every student a voice. Last week’s showcase was a powerful reminder of just how much potential our students have — and how brightly they are already beginning to shine.

The future of performing arts at Bottisham is incredibly exciting.
