Today was Year 11 shirt signing day - a tradition Today was Year 11 shirt signing day - a tradition we are incredibly proud of at Bottisham Village College.

There is something very special about seeing shirts covered in names, messages, memories and moments that tell the story of five remarkable years. Today was joyful, emotional and, above all, a reminder of just how magnificent the Class of 2026 truly are.

Saying goodbye is never easy. This year group has left an exceptional mark on our college: in classrooms, on stages, on pitches, in corridors, in conversations, and in the countless small acts of kindness that make a community what it is. They have grown, contributed, challenged themselves and each other, and helped shape Bottisham Village College in ways that will last long after their final exams are complete.

To our Year 11 students: go well in your final few exams. Keep believing in yourselves, keep looking after one another, and keep aiming high. We are so proud of who you are and excited for all that lies ahead.

We look forward to seeing you all at the Leavers' Ball.

Be kind. Be useful. Make a difference. Leave the world better than you found it.
What a fantastic day for our students! Yesterday, What a fantastic day for our students!

Yesterday, we took a group to the Cambridge Literary Festival at Cambridge Union, where they had the pleasure of hearing from acclaimed author Jackie Kay. The students enjoyed a talk and Q&A session—and each came away with a free signed copy of her book.

A wonderful opportunity to engage with literature and meet an inspiring writer. 📚
Proud moment for Bottisham Village College! Holly Proud moment for Bottisham Village College!

Holly and Nevaeh represented our school brilliantly at the opening of the Knife Angel in Ely this week. Both are members of the Youth Panel and attended an incredibly moving ceremony honouring young people lost to knife crime in our region.

The girls even had the opportunity to meet and speak with Chief Constable Simon Megicks—giving excellent representation to our school community in their own time.

Well done, Holly and Nevaeh. We're proud of you both. 💙

Lighting the Way in Performing Arts Our Year 9 Pe Lighting the Way in Performing Arts

Our Year 9 Performing Arts students have been experimenting with lighting effects as part of their Semiotics topic, exploring how meaning is created on stage.

Students investigated how colour, placement and direction can transform the mood of a performance space, helping an audience read emotion, atmosphere and character before a single word is spoken.

It was fantastic to see them thinking like theatre-makers: creative, curious and analytical as they discovered just how powerful stagecraft can be.
