Working in Partnership with Parents and Carers

We strongly value the role parents and carers play in supporting their children’s education. Research consistently shows that positive home–school partnerships have a significant impact on students’ wellbeing, attendance, behaviour and academic progress. At Bottisham Village College, we are committed to working closely with families to ensure the best possible outcomes for every student.

Parent Forum

Our well‑established Parent Forum provides a constructive and purposeful way for parents to engage with the life of the college. The Forum aims to:

  • provide feedback on proposed changes to school systems and policies
  • raise and discuss issues of concern to parents
  • contribute ideas that benefit students and the wider school community
  • strengthen the link between learning at school and learning at home

We welcome parents who:

  • work collaboratively as part of a team
  • are reflective and solution‑focused
  • can take a whole‑school perspective
  • are willing to commit to half‑termly meetings

If you would like to express an interest in joining the Parent Forum or wish to find out more, please contact us at mmerry@bottishamvc.org.

We look forward to working in partnership with you and welcoming new voices to the Forum.
