Our Year 8 and Year 9 students — along with lear Our Year 8 and Year 9 students — along with learners from Coral, Inspire and Reef — have taken part in an important part of our PSHE curriculum today: watching the powerful and thought‑provoking play Chelsea’s Story, performed by Narrative Alchemy.

The production explores safeguarding, healthy relationships and the importance of staying safe, delivered in a way that encourages reflection and awareness. Our students engaged maturely and thoughtfully throughout.

A huge thank you to Narrative Alchemy for bringing such an impactful and meaningful performance to our school.
A huge thank you to the brilliant team at Staplefo A huge thank you to the brilliant team at Stapleford Granary for welcoming our Year 7 students to their wonderful Ladybird Book Exhibition this week.
It was a magnificent morning — students explored beautifully preserved Ladybird books, tried their hands at old typewriters, and took a fascinating step back in time to see how children’s books were created in years gone by.
The visit sparked curiosity, conversation, and a real sense of wonder. A truly memorable experience for our students!
Thank you again to everyone at @staplefordgranaryartsculture for such a warm and inspiring visit. 📚✨

📚🦈 World Book Day at BVC… where normality 📚🦈 World Book Day at BVC… where normality packs its bags and strolls calmly out the door!
As many of you will know, the run‑up to World Book Day is the one time of year when absolutely nothing surprises us anymore. And honestly—what could be more perfectly BVC than an English teacher passionately promoting the joy of reading in assembly… while standing next to a student dressed as a shark?

Yes, this really happened.
No, we’re not even slightly fazed.

World Book Day 2026 will take place on Thursday 5th March, and we’re already gearing up for the usual blend of creativity, chaos and costume‑based confusion that makes it such a brilliant celebration of reading for pleasure.

More details soon—but for now, beware of sharks in the corridors… they’re surprisingly bookish.
📣 We Need Your Help, BVC Community! Next Wedne 📣 We Need Your Help, BVC Community!

Next Wednesday 11th March, Bottisham Village College will be hosting our Key Stage 3 Pathways & Careers Fair — a fast‑paced, exciting event where students will have around 20 minutes to “buzz around” different employers, discovering the huge range of roles, industries and training routes available in our local area.

We are still looking for local businesses, organisations or self‑employed professionals who would be willing to come in for the morning and talk to students about:

Different routes into your profession
The types of roles within your organisation
Opportunities and skills in your sector
The careers available across Cambridgeshire and beyond

It’s a short time commitment but has a huge impact in opening young people’s eyes to future pathways.
If you or your company can help, please contact:

📩 josmith@bottishamvc.org
📩 ematthewsking@bottishamvc.org

Thank you for supporting our students’ futures!
📚 Year 7 Author Visit – 12th March 📚 Our 📚 Year 7 Author Visit – 12th March 📚

Our Year 7 students are in for a real treat on 12th March! Author visits are an important part of our reading for pleasure culture, and Julian Sedgwick’s talk is sure to become a standout memory in their Bottisham journey.

Any books ordered via Wisepay will be ready for collection on the day – and can be signed by the author during the visit.

We can’t wait to welcome him into school!
