🔪 Precision. Control. Professionalism. Our Year 1 🔪 Precision. Control. Professionalism.

Our Year 10 GCSE Food and Nutrition students have been demonstrating exceptional knife skills, reflecting the highest standards of training, discipline and ambition. The accuracy, consistency and confidence shown in today’s practical work would not look out of place in a professional kitchen.

These skills are not simply about speed or technique; they are about safety, efficiency, and respect for ingredients. Students are applying anatomical understanding of food structures alongside refined motor control — a clear indicator of mature learning and academic rigour.

At Bottisham Village College, we are proud to cultivate technical excellence and professional habits from an early stage. These lessons lay foundations not only for success in examinations, but for future pathways in culinary science, hospitality, nutrition and beyond.

A pleasure to see such focus, calm and precision in action.

Across the site, students were fully immersed in their learning—perfecting their technique in javelin, creating in the kitchen, pushing their limits in gymnastics, crafting thoughtful extended writing, engaging in lively debates, and carrying out exciting experiments. Every corner of the college was alive with purpose, curiosity, and energy.

It was a busy morning, but more importantly, it was a meaningful one. To see students and staff working side by side, supporting and challenging each other, speaks volumes about the strength of our community. There is a shared commitment here—to strive, to improve, and to achieve together.

This is what education at its best looks like: opportunity, collaboration, and ambition in every moment.

A huge thank you to our outstanding Year 9 and 10 Sports Leaders, who demonstrated such enthusiasm, responsibility and leadership while supporting our Primary School Sports Festival, expertly led by Mr Darling.
