Sponges at the ready! 🧽 There were soggy scenes a Sponges at the ready! 🧽

There were soggy scenes at lunchtime today as Mrs Damant, Mr Cox and Miss Wadsworth bravely took their places in the firing line for our sponge-throwing fundraiser — and our students needed no second invitation!

Every splash was in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association, a cause that means a great deal to our community right now. The generosity of our students and staff was matched only by their enthusiasm (and their aim).

A huge thank you to our three good-natured volunteers for taking a soaking with such good humour, and to everyone who donated. Together, we raised a fantastic sum for a cause close to all our hearts.

That's the spirit of BVC at its very best. 💙
📚✨ **An Inspiring Visit from Author A. M. Dassu!** 📚✨ **An Inspiring Visit from Author A. M. Dassu!** ✨📚

On Wednesday, we were delighted to welcome author **A. M. Dassu** to Bottisham Village College for a truly inspiring day of creativity and storytelling.

A group of our Year 9 students took part in an engaging creative writing workshop, exploring the art of plotting a story. It was fantastic to see students sharing ideas, asking thoughtful questions and embracing the creative process with such enthusiasm.

In the afternoon, A. M. Dassu delivered an inspiring assembly to Year 8, sharing her journey to becoming a published author. Students learned about the inspiration behind her books, the importance of authentic research, the publishing process—and even how mathematical skills play an important role when working with publishers!

Perhaps most importantly, students were encouraged to persevere with their own writing, reminding us all that resilience and determination are at the heart of every successful creative journey.

A huge thank you to A. M. Dassu for giving our students such an engaging, insightful and memorable experience.

📖 If you'd like to explore her work, a selection of A. M. Dassu's books is available to borrow from the College Library!
🌍✨ Activities Week Begins! ✨🌍 From Monday, one of 🌍✨ Activities Week Begins! ✨🌍

From Monday, one of the most distinctive and enriching weeks in the Bottisham Village College calendar begins.

Across the College, students will be taking part in an incredible range of experiences: residential visits, work experience placements, educational day trips and inspiring in-school activities. Together, these opportunities add depth, challenge and colour to our curriculum, helping our students develop confidence, resilience, independence and a broader understanding of the world around them.

At Bottisham Village College, we believe education extends far beyond the classroom. Activities Week is a reflection of that belief—an opportunity for every student to learn in different environments, discover new interests and create lasting memories through meaningful experiences.

Throughout the week, we'll share regular updates from across our many activities. With hundreds of students involved in so many different experiences, we won't be able to feature every student or every activity, but we hope our updates will give you a flavour of the remarkable week taking place across our College.

We wish all of our students an inspiring, enjoyable and memorable Activities Week. We can't wait to share the journey with you! 🌟
🚗 Important Drop-Off Arrangements – Monday 6th Jul 🚗 Important Drop-Off Arrangements – Monday 6th July 🚗

As we prepare to send our Year 7 and Year 8 students off on their exciting trips, we'd like to thank everyone in advance for their patience, understanding and cooperation as we work together to get hundreds of students dropped off safely and efficiently.

📍 If you are dropping your child off for the Year 7 Camp or Year 8 Derbyshire trip, please use the Sports Centre overflow car park.

🚌 School buses will be running as normal, and staff will be on hand to guide and direct traffic.

A gentle reminder that parking or stopping on the road, or using the bus bays for drop-off, doesn't save time. In reality, it slows everyone down, creates unnecessary congestion and, most importantly, puts children and other road users at risk.

We know everyone is keen to get on their way, but taking the extra minute to use the designated drop-off area will help ensure that everyone arrives safely and that the morning runs as smoothly as possible.

Thank you for helping us put the safety of all our students first. We really do appreciate your support. 😊
🎶 A Year to Remember at Bottisham Music Centre! 🎶 🎶 A Year to Remember at Bottisham Music Centre! 🎶

What a truly remarkable inaugural year for Bottisham Music Centre at Bottisham Village College.

Music is far more than an enrichment opportunity—it is at the very heart of an outstanding education. It nurtures creativity, discipline, resilience and collaboration, while strengthening the cognitive skills that help young people flourish both in and beyond the classroom. When students make music together, they are not simply learning notes and rhythms; they are learning to listen, to lead, to persevere and to create something greater than themselves. 🎼✨

We could not have imagined a more memorable way to conclude our first year. As our talented musicians performed the iconic Mustang Sally, they did so in the presence of a real-life Mustang! 🐎🎸

What an experience. What memories. What a way to celebrate an incredible first year.

A huge thank you to our wonderful students, dedicated staff, supportive families and everyone who has helped make Bottisham Music Centre such a success.

Together, we've created something very special—and this is only the beginning.

Here's to another year of musical excellence, ambition and unforgettable opportunities. 🎵🌟

What a magnificent few days we've had welcoming ou What a magnificent few days we've had welcoming our new Year 6 students for their transition days! 🌟

They have impressed us every step of the way with their positive attitudes to learning, fantastic focus, and willingness to embrace every challenge. From exciting science experiments to energetic relay races, enjoying lunch in the school canteen to experiencing a musical assembly, they've had a wonderful taste of life at Bottisham Village College.

It was also a pleasure to meet so many parents and carers at our presentation evening yesterday, and for everyone to have the opportunity to meet their child's tutor. Thank you for joining us and for being part of this exciting next step.

We wish all of our new students and their families a wonderful summer. We can't wait to welcome you back in September as you begin your journey and become part of the fantastic Bottisham Village College community. 💙
