Viel Glück, Bonne Chance and Buena Suerte — Year 11 Linguists!

Our Year 11 MFL students are currently completing their Mock GCSE Speaking Examinations, an important step in building confidence and fluency ahead of the summer exams. This morning, Mr Midgley was preparing students in The Henry Morris Room, helping them refine their responses and feel fully ready for the challenge.

A huge thank you to our magnificent MFL faculty for their exceptional support and commitment to our students’ success.

🌍 An Inspiring Journey: Dominic’s Galapagos V

🌍 An Inspiring Journey: Dominic’s Galapagos Volunteering Expedition 🌍

We are incredibly proud of Year 11 student Dominic, who will be travelling to the Galapagos Islands this summer on a conservation volunteering programme. This extraordinary opportunity was inspired by his late Grandpa, who supported and encouraged his grandchildren to build their future or create a truly significant memory. Dominic has chosen both.

Alongside the contribution from his Grandpa, Dominic is working hard to raise the additional funds he needs. He has already taken on gardening jobs in the local community and is exploring new ways to fundraise—showing exactly the kind of determination, generosity, and resilience we value at Bottisham Village College.

Challenging yourself, stepping into the wider world, and giving back are powerful experiences for young people, and we could not be prouder of Dominic for embracing this challenge.

Last week, our Year 11 students were fortunate enough to take part in a series of mock interviews, helping them prepare for post-16 pathways and life beyond Bottisham Village College.

We were incredibly lucky to welcome an army of volunteers from the world of business, the community and the public sector, who generously gave their time to provide our students with an invaluable real-world experience.

On behalf of everyone at the college, thank you. Your support makes a genuine difference.

Our students performed admirably throughout the day, and the initial feedback we’ve received has been glowing. Year 11 truly rose to the occasion — what a fantastic group of young people they are.
