College Improvement Plan
Our current 3 Year College Improvement Plan began this year, focusing on the two priorities below:
Our Improvement Plan focuses on three key objectives to enhance student learning, raise attainment, and strengthen community engagement.
Objective 1: Attitudes to Learning
We aim to reduce low-level disruption in classrooms, ensuring students are consistently prepared and equipped to learn. By promoting positive attitudes towards learning and respect, we create a productive and harmonious learning environment. Furthermore, we will strengthen our anti-bullying strategies, enhancing preventative measures and response protocols to maintain a safe, inclusive school community.
Objective 2: Raising Attainment
Our focus is on inclusive teaching and targeted support for all students. This includes ensuring teachers access and adapt SEND plans, deploying Teaching Assistants effectively, and expanding our Coral Provision for students who need additional support. We will enhance our reading strategy to accelerate progress for students with below age-related reading scores and implement consistent assessment practices across all faculties. Additionally, we will ensure accountability and consistency in teaching through rigorous progress reviews, improved line management, and a refined appraisal system.
Objective 3: Community Engagement
We are committed to improving communication with parents and students, providing a clear view of college life through various platforms. We will foster a sense of belonging by expanding student leadership opportunities and enhancing mental health support through updated strategies and trauma-informed approaches. Lastly, we will reform our pastoral structure to strengthen supportive relationships within the school community.
