On Saturday, some of our Bottisham Village College students attended the Cambridgeshire Cross Country Championships at Kingโ€™s Ely School. Having qualified through the District event, kindly hosted by Netherhall, our students had the opportunity to compete against the very best in Cambridgeshire โ€” all with the aim of qualifying for the regional event in Northampton later this month.

We are delighted to share some outstanding performances:

โญ Year 11: Ivy ran brilliantly to qualify for the next round
๐Ÿฅˆ Year 10: Harry finished second, continuing his stellar achievements in this sport
๐Ÿ”ฅ Year 7: We had three qualifiers โ€” Jasper placed an incredible 3rd, a sensational achievement, qualifying alongside Harry
๐Ÿ’ช We also saw a fantastic run from Matteo, a true sportsman who excels across the board

Congratulations to all of our participants. Bottisham continues to excel at this event, reflecting the excellent practice, preparation and tutelage provided by our PE faculty.

A special thank you to Mr Perry, Head of PE, for helping to run the event โ€” and for keeping everyone going with the coffee! โ˜•๐Ÿ‘

A massive thank-you to @kingselyofficial for hosting this round and to @thenetherhallschool for hosting the district event.
๐ŸŒŸ Year 7 Opportunities at Bottisham Village Col ๐ŸŒŸ Year 7 Opportunities at Bottisham Village College ๐ŸŒŸ

Year 7 had a fantastic assembly today, full of excitement and opportunity.

Mr Darling officially launched Year 7 Camp, inviting the whole year group to join us in Norfolk this summer for our iconic residential. This is a true Bottisham tradition โ€” a right of passage that has been running for many years and creates memories, friendships, and confidence that last well beyond Year 7. We cannot wait to take the entire year group with us.

Alongside this, Mr Knox launched this termโ€™s Enrichment sign-up, and what an extraordinary range of opportunities is on offer. From musical theatre and debating to badminton, rugby, maths, science, and even crochet, there is something for everyone to explore, enjoy, and excel in.

Assemblies like this showcase exactly what Year 7 at Bottisham is all about: ambition, involvement, and a wealth of opportunities that allow every student to discover new interests and develop their talents.

An exciting journey is well underway for our Year 7s โ€” and this is only the beginning. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

A fantastic performance from our Year 9s in the District Cup Final against Soham.

This is a year group renowned in local football for both their talent and outstanding attitude, and once again they showed just how dedicated they are to improving every time they step on the pitch.

The match was close and competitive, with excellent football throughout. We went into half-time 2โ€“0 up thanks to moments of individual brilliance and taking our chances well. The team then cruised into a 3โ€“0 lead before a resilient Soham side showed great character, dominating the final 20 minutes and pulling one back. Strong organisation and determination saw us hold on for a deserved 3โ€“1 victory.
