Green to be Seen: A New Way for Students to Speak Up
At Bottisham Village College, student wellbeing and safety are at the heart of what we do. We’re proud to launch Green to be Seen — a new initiative giving students a private, safe, and simple way to share concerns about themselves or others.
This scheme recognises that not all students feel comfortable reporting worries face to face or filling in formal incident reports. Green to be Seen removes that barrier.
Here’s how it works:
-
Students can collect a Green to be Seen postcard from their classroom, the Library, Student Support, or Pastoral Support.
-
Once filled out, postcards can be posted into one of two secure postboxes — located at the entrance to the MFL block and on the wall near the Library.
-
The boxes are checked daily by our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) team only.
All students will be introduced to the scheme during next week’s assemblies, and posters in each classroom will serve as a reminder that support is always available — even when speaking up feels difficult.
There will also be a supply of postcards available in the staff room for staff to replenish classroom stocks as needed.
Green to be Seen is one more way we’re ensuring that every student feels heard, supported, and safe.
