Want to improve balance control, fitness, and your flexibility?
Yoga is suitable for people of all ages and levels of fitness. We offer two separate sessions to cater for learners’ needs. The earlier class (17.55) is for beginners and mixed abilities. The
later class (19.15) is for mixed abilities but is more advanced than the earlier class. In the early class, you will be working on a short ‘settling in’, a warm up and learning how to
practise individual poses. Some poses will be linked together to create a gentle / mindful ‘flow’ (Vinyasaflow), which supports building up strength and flexibility in the body. Some
gentle and modified sun salutations will be introduced to the sessions. Both classes will end with a relaxation. It is advisable to eat only lightly two hours before
Your Tutor: Marilene Estoppey
Marilene is a qualified Yoga Alliance teacher and Member of the Complimentary Medical Association in Thai Yoga Massage and Yoga Teaching. Her classes are tailored according to the
learners’ interests, individual abilities and are held in a friendly and non-competitive environment.
What you will need to bring to the first session:
Please bring a blanket for relaxation and a yoga mat, wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring a drink.
• Please get advice from your GP before starting Yoga if you have any health concerns or an existing health condition.
• You will need to complete a pre-exercise health questionnaire before the course, which you can download from our website or collect from the Adult Learning Office.
