Spectacular Stained Glass

Would you like to learn about stained glass? Then this course is for you!

Student stained glass work, 2018

Have you ever wondered how glass is made and put together? Here is your chance to try a unique glass technique called ‘copperfoil,’ invented by Louis Comfort Tiffany which revolutionised the way that glass was made and put together. Small scale, delicate pieces can be made using this method. You will need a steady hand and lots of patience to learn this technique, but the results will be well worth the effort! No experience necessary. Just lots of patience and a steady hand!

The course will start the course with a short presentation to introduce the tutor and the equipment, and talk about different glass techniques.  Then over the following 5 weeks, students will learn what different glass is called, what it is used for and all the methods that needed to make a stunning picture from glass. Students will create a unique and beautiful stained glass piece using clear and coloured textured glass during this course. The class sizes will be limited to a maximum of six students so the tutor can spend quality time with everyone each week.

The course fee includes £20 cost of specialist materials.
