If you are completely new to woodworking / DIY skills, then this course is for you!
Over the 10 weeks you will learn practical and transferable skills that will give you independence and confidence to use traditional and modern materials and tools. You will build a set project using simple skills, resulting in a professional product and you’ll explore what to include in a basic tool kit of your own. Den, the tutor, is an experienced and encouraging woodworker, he will guide you through the course using simple tips and techniques.
Your tutor: Den Pemberton
Den Pemberton has a City and Guilds Furniture Making Diploma and owns his own comprehensive workshop at home. He has been woodworking and making furniture for over 40 years. Now in semi-retirement, he teaches Adult Learning courses at various Centres.
What you will need to bring to the first session:
- Closed-toe shoes
- Old clothing
Requirements for the course
All materials are provided. However, a charge of £30 will be made, which is payable to the tutor at the first session.
