Indian Take Away

An excellent opportunity for Indian food lovers!

Learn the secrets of traditional Indian cuisine using authentic ingredients and recipes. You will produce a range of quick and easy Indian dishes that you will want to replicate for your take
away at home. We will prepare a selection of dishes which originate from different parts of India. Enjoy learning a culinary skill you can share with all the family. Ingredients can be
adapted to suit special dietary needs. The menu incudes:

Chicken Curry, Jeera Fried Rice , Dhal – Lentil Dish, Naan Bread, Curried
Prawns , Lemon Rice, Onion Baggias , Date and Tamarind Chutney

Your Tutor: Rama Ram

Rama comes from southern India and has been living in Great Britain for the last 50 years. Rama’s authentic cookery skills were learnt from her mother and are based on healthy and
tasty home-cooking. Having taught Indian Cookery for many years in and around Cambridge, Rama has also written 3 books and is a frequent guest speaker at many Women’s Institutes.

What you will need to bring to the first session
• an apron
• a clean tea towel
• Dishes to take the food home in

Requirements for the course

An ingredients list for the first lesson will be available from the Adult Learning office a week in advance. You will need to provide your own ingredients each week, but the tutor will advise on where to buy any specialist ingredients. The tutor will advise what ingredients to bring for subsequent weeks. Some herbs and spices will be provided by the tutor and a small payment for these can be made to the tutor on the day.
