Indian Take Away

An excellent opportunity for Indian food lovers!

Indian food is becoming the Nation’s favourite! Join the course and learn how to use herbs and spices to achieve delicious homemade taste and gain confidence to prepare real Indian food at home using natural ingredients! You will discover how healthy and economical Indian home-cooking and be easy, quick to reach than the take away!
We will prepare two dishes each evening after my step- by- step demonstration with explanation.

You will be preparing your own and take home to share with family and friends!

Indian food improves its flavour after resting for some time.

We will be preparing:

  • Chicken tikka masala,  – Saffron rice,
  • Parathas – lamb curry ,
  • Curried Prawns- Jeera Fried Rice,
  • Delicious snacks – Samosas, Mint Chutney!

Your Tutor: Rama Ram

Rama comes from southern India and has been living in Great Britain for the last 50 years. Rama’s authentic cookery skills were learnt from her mother and are based on healthy and
tasty home-cooking. Having taught Indian Cookery for many years in and around Cambridge, Rama has also written 3 books and is a frequent guest speaker at many Women’s Institutes.

What you will need to bring to the first session:

• An apron
• A clean tea towel
• Dishes to take the food home in
• Small sharp knife
• Wooden cooking spoon

Requirements for the course:

An ingredients list for the first lesson will be available from the Adult Learning office a week in advance. You will need to provide your own ingredients each week, but the tutor will advise on where to buy any specialist ingredients. The tutor will advise what ingredients to bring for subsequent weeks. Some herbs and spices will be provided by the tutor and a small payment for these can be made to the tutor on the day.
