Counselling CPD Workshops are open to counselling students, practicing counsellors/psychotherapists and other professionals. The workshops can also contribute towards ‘The Advanced Certificate in Counselling Studies’
An experiential weekend to increase self-awareness, understanding of others, group processes and group facilitation.
This weekend will demonstrate Adlerian group work and encourage awareness of group processes through experiential exercises. The workshop will show how evolving group dynamics and lifestyle analysis can be combined successfully to promote increased self-awareness, support change in mistaken assumptions and goals and improve the sense of social belonging and social interest.
Hot water is available for drinks but please bring your own tea/coffee/milk. Please bring a packed lunch.
Dr. Karen John is a developmental psychologist who works as a researcher, trainer, lecturer, consultant, psychotherapist, and as supervisor of therapeutic and work-based practice. With 47 years of experience in mental health services, research and training, her abiding aim is to help individuals, families, organisations and a range of professionals to recognise and overcome internal and external obstacles that interfere with their healthy functioning and development. Over the past 22 years she has supported agencies, leaders and staff involved in integrating services for children and families. She has developed a number of short courses on child, adolescent and adult mental health, leadership, work-based supervision, family change and changing families, leadership, group dynamics and working with young people and families with complex issues.
