Glass Mosaic
Glass Mosaic
Student Work – 2019
During this course you will create a unique mosaic. Experiment using small fragments of glass, shape them using a grinding machine, and finally glue and grout the fragments together to create a beautiful mosaic panel based on your design.
You will learn through demonstrations and discussion. I will help you to create your own design so that you will understand how to design your own piece in the future. By the end of the course, you will have made a beautiful decorative piece using just glass fragments!
Lisa Fretwell has worked as an artist and teacher for 30 years, exhibiting glass and paintings in Leicester, London, New York and Hertfordshire.
She will start the course with a short presentation to introduce herself and the equipment, and talk about different glass techniques. Then she will teach students, firstly, how to create a design for glass, then step-by-step, all the techniques needed to make a copper foiled stained glass piece. Handouts will be provided along with all of the glass, and tools required.
