Introduction to Felt-Making

© Lisa E Fretwell – Poppies, 2012

Do you love the softness and variety of visual effect achieved with felt? Then this course is for you!

Lisa uses an easy relaxing technique to make felt pieces that does not result in aching arms, just beautiful work! Come and try it out, it’s fun and you can make new friends along the way. Students will learn how to make felt balls, make some pre-felt samples and combine them to make unique, original and beautiful imagery.

During the first part of the course students will concentrate upon working out a suitable design and colour scheme for their project so that they will understand how to design their own piece in the future. Then the tutor will show the students how to create the textures and colours in their chosen image, and finally, how to combine those together to create a final piece. There will be a short break including half term during this course so that students can practise the skills that they have learnt, and build upon them when they return.
