Calligraphy for Christmas
Have festive fun making hand-lettered seasonal gift boxes, gift tags and place cards
This workshop is suitable for beginners and more experienced calligraphers alike. You’ll start by learning or revising a traditional script, and then you’ll put your lettering skills to use in a
choice of festive projects. You’ll go home with lots of ideas for making hand-lettered and decorative items to appeal to all the family and enhance your Christmas table or tree.

What you will need to bring:
Please bring your own packed lunch and refreshments.
A few small paintbrushes for mixing paint and loading the nib – they do not need to be high quality but it’s useful to keep separate ones for different colours
Pencil and eraser
Plastic ruler (and small set square if possible)
Scissors and a glue stick
Pair of compasses
Water pot or jam jar (a couple would be useful in order to keep colours clean)
If you attend a weekly calligraphy class, please bring your normal calligraphy equipment.
If you are a beginner, calligraphic pens, gouache and ink, along with an assortment of other items will be available to purchase on the day.
A full list of everything to be used will be provided prior to the course as many items are regular household stationery items and learners may wish to bring in their own
*Depending on what you wish to purchase, you may spend approx £5 to £10 for materials payable to the tutor on the day.
