Indian Street Food

If you would like to learn some delicious Indian street food dishes, then this course is for you!

‘Indian Street Food ‘ is very popular not only in India but all over the world! It is incredible cuisine. In India known as ‘Fast Food’ and locally ‘Chaat’, itt is cooked and eaten on the street. Very tasty and tangy! Fun to cook using few unusual ingredients which are now available online or Indian shops.

Come and learn the well-known art with practical experience and enjoy the delicious food in your home comfort with family and friends!

Each dish is explained and demonstrated step-by-step for you to watch and prepare on your own using your dietary requirements.

The menu for Saturday : Chicken Katti Kebabs served with wraps and coriander, mint chutney, sweet garlic chutney, Cholebatata – with chickpeas and mouth watering Samose ki Chaat.

Your Tutor: Rama Ram

Rama comes from southern India and has been living in Great Britain for the last 50 years. Rama’s authentic cookery skills were learnt from her mother and are based on healthy and tasty home-cooking. Having taught Indian Cookery for many years in and around Cambridge, Rama has also written 3 books and is a frequent guest speaker at many Women’s Institutes.

What you will need to bring to the session:

  • An apron
  • A clean tea towel
  • 5-6 dishes to take the food home in
  • Small sharp knife
  • Wooden cooking spoon

Requirements for the course

An ingredients list for the workshop will be sent to your email address by the Adult Learning office five days in advance.  You will need to provide your own ingredients, but the tutor will advise on where to buy any specialist ingredients.   Some herbs and spices will be provided by the tutor and a small payment for these can be made to the tutor on the day.
